A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping after police said a two-year-old child was taken from its pram at a TK Maxx in southeast London. 

Police were called to Bromley High Street yesterday where the suspect had picked up the child and said to the child's mother that he would take them.

The child was recovered, the Metropolitan Police said.

The force added that the investigation is still ongoing.

It also urged the public to contact police immediately if they believe a child has been abducted.
