Coventry City missed out on a place in the FA Cup final after losing to Manchester United on penalties after a dramatic match at Wembley.

The Championship club were 3-0 down by the 58th minute in the semi-final but fought back and scored three goals - including a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time - to take United to extra time.

Mark Robins' side thought they'd won it with a goal in injury time of extra time but it was ruled out for offside following a VAR review, sending the match to a penalty shoot-out which United won 4-2.

Coventry captain Ben Sheaf sent his crucial penalty over the crossbar, leaving United's Rasmus Hojlund to step up and secure their place in the final.

After coming so close to suffering an upset, Erik ten Hag's team kept their celebrations muted.

While Coventry fell short at the final hurdle, the game will be remembered for their valiant comeback, as they scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to force extra time against their Premier League opponents.
