Police investigating the death of a 27-year-old man in Inverclyde have made an arrest.

Jack Trainner was found seriously injured on Brookfield Road, Port Glasgow, at around 9pm on 27 April.

Emergency crews attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland issued a fresh appeal at the beginning of the week as detectives urged people with information to come forward.

In an update, the force said a 23-year-old man had been arrested in connection with Mr Trainner's death.
